Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua Tickets Sell Out in One Hour as 500,000 Fans Queue

Boom RadioNG | October 9, 2026

Tickets for the highly anticipated heavyweight boxing showdown between British rivals Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua sold out within an hour of going on sale on Friday, October 9, with more than 500,000 fans reportedly waiting in the online queue.

The December 11 bout will take place at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, in a contest expected to rank among the biggest events in British boxing. The main event is scheduled to begin in the early hours of Saturday, December 12, to accommodate international broadcast arrangements.

Ticket prices and resale listings

According to the report, about 80,000 tickets were released for the fight. Prices ranged from £88.50 to £13,128, including booking fees, but demand quickly outstripped availability.

Following the sell-out, tickets appeared on resale websites at significantly higher prices. Ringside VIP seats were reportedly advertised for as much as £73,645, while upper-tier tickets were listed at around £425.

The listings highlight the intense demand for a meeting between two of Britain’s best-known heavyweight boxers, although the advertised resale prices do not necessarily represent completed sales.

A major fight with a global audience

The fight is expected to be broadcast worldwide on Netflix. It is being promoted through a collaboration involving Turki Alalshikh’s The Ring and Ultimate Fighting Championship chief Dana White.

Fury, 38, and Joshua, 36, are both former two-time world champions. Their long-awaited contest follows years of speculation and uncertainty surrounding the fight’s organisation and promotion.

The rivals met at a news conference on September 30 to begin the public build-up. Wembley Stadium in London and Madison Square Garden in New York had reportedly been considered as possible venues before Cardiff was selected.

The fighters are also reportedly set to share a purse worth close to $200 million.

Late-night boxing in Cardiff

The main event’s ring walks are expected at approximately 01:00 GMT on December 12, following a live music performance. The stadium is scheduled to remain open until 03:30 GMT.

Cardiff’s Principality Stadium has previously hosted major boxing events staged at unusual hours to accommodate overseas television audiences. Joe Calzaghe’s November 2007 fight against Mikkel Kessler and Ricky Hatton’s 2005 victory over Kostya Tszyu are among the examples cited in the report.

Organisers have yet to announce the undercard fights.

With tickets gone within an hour and resale listings reaching extraordinary asking prices, attention now turns to the remaining fight preparations, the announcement of supporting bouts and the December showdown itself.
