Tuchel Out: Bayern Munich To Parts Ways with Manager After Disappointing Season
Bayern Munich’s head coach, Thomas Tuchel, will be leaving the club at the end of the season following a series of damaging defeats that have left their Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League aspirations in disarray.
Tuchel’s position came under scrutiny after a lackluster 3-0 league loss to title rivals Bayer Leverkusen, which was followed by a 1-0 defeat to Lazio in the first leg of the last 16 in Rome.
The situation worsened on Sunday when the 32-time German champions suffered a 3-2 defeat against mid-table Bochum, falling eight points behind league leaders Leverkusen.

Initially, Bayern’s chief executive, Jan-Christian Dreesen, stated that Tuchel’s job was secure despite the loss. However, the club ultimately decided to take action.
“FC Bayern Munich and head coach Thomas Tuchel have mutually agreed to terminate their working relationship, which was originally set to run until June 30, 2025, on June 30, 2024,” the club announced on their website.
This decision was reached following a constructive discussion between CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and Thomas Tuchel.
