Senator Abiru Mixed Team Table Tennis Championship Launches
The SAIL Empowerment Foundation, led by Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru and his wife, is sponsoring the first-ever Mixed Team Table Tennis Open Championships in Africa.
The tournament will take place in Lagos from October 31st to November 2nd at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Sports Hall. Teams from Nigeria and other African countries are expected to participate.
The tournament offers a prize pool of N4 million. It is organized by the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) and aims to promote table tennis in Africa.

Tournament Director Adesoji Tayo highlighted the significant interest in the event from teams in Ghana, Togo, and Benin Republic. He expressed gratitude for the support from the SAIL Empowerment Foundation and anticipated an exciting tournament.
Deji Abisola, Chief Impact Officer of SAIL Empowerment Foundation, emphasized the foundation’s commitment to youth development. He stated that the sponsorship of the tournament aligns with their efforts to identify and nurture young talent.
The Senator Abiru Mixed Team Table Tennis Championship is expected to be a successful event that will showcase the skills of talented players and contribute to the development of table tennis in Africa.
