President Tinubu Commends Dangote Ltd for Reduction in Price of Diesel
President Bola Tinubu has today commended Dangote Oil and Gas Limited for reducing the price of diesel.
This was made known in a statement by the presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale.
In his statement, the president described the move as an “enterprising feat” and the price review represents a sharp drop, which will, in no small measure, impact the prices of sundry goods and services adding that Nigerians and domestic businesses are the nation’s surest transport and security to economic prosperity.
He also noted the Federal Government’s 20 per cent stake in Dangote Refinery, saying such partnerships between public and private entities are essential to advancing the country’s overall well-being.
Therefore, he called on well-meaning Nigerians and businesses to, at this time, put the nation in priority gear while assuring them of a conducive, safe, and secure environment to thrive.
The Dangote Group recently inctroduced a downward review of the gantry price of AGO from N1,650 to N1,000 per litre for a minimum of one million litres of the product, as well as providing a discount of N30 per litre for an offtake of five million litres and above.
Diesel is mostly used in large quantities in Nigeria by industries and articulated vehicles to transport goods across the country.
A reduction in the price of diesel is set to positively affect the prices of goods and services across the board and reduce the inflation in prices of goods across the country.
