Police Arrest Adeniyi Adeyemi Over PFIPC Fraud Case
The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-proclaimed Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).

Adeyemi was apprehended in Osun State by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) after a bench warrant was issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja for failing to appear at his scheduled arraignment.

Justice Umar ordered his arrest following an oral application by police counsel Wisdom Madaki. Adeyemi faces an eight-count charge of forgery, fraud, and impersonation, including falsifying presidential documents and parading himself as head of a non-existent agency.

The Federal Government alleges he forged appointment letters bearing the names of President Bola Tinubu and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, as well as requests for office space and collaboration with ministries. Despite the presidency’s denial of PFIPC’s existence, Adeyemi insists the council appeared in the 2026 budget and vowed to defend himself in court.

He is expected to be produced before the court on September 30 for arraignment.
