Oyo Kidnap Victims Debunk ₦1 Billion Ransom Rumor as Mbaka Demands Accountability

Amid growing tension over the Oyo school abductions, one of the kidnapped victims, Mrs. Alamu, a school principal, has refuted claims that their captors are demanding ₦1 billion ransom, weapons, or the implementation of Sharia law.

In a video released by the abductors, Alamu urged the public to stop spreading false information that could endanger negotiations for their release. “They are not asking for Sharia law; they are not asking for weapons; they are not asking for money. All they are asking for is negotiation,” she said, appealing for restraint and truth.

Meanwhile, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has called on Nigerians to hold Governor Seyi Makinde accountable for the crisis, urging citizens to “march to Oyo State” and demand decisive action. The fiery cleric condemned the politicization of insecurity, warning that kidnapping children is not a path to political change.

The dual messages — one from captivity and another from the pulpit — highlight the urgency of truth, leadership, and compassion in Nigeria’s fight against abductions.
