Nigeria drops 2 spots to 42nd in latest FIFA rankings
Three-time African champions, Super Eagles of Nigeria have today dropped 2 spots to 42nd spot in the latest ranking released this morning from the ranking announced at the end of October.
The world football governing body, FIFA published this in its latest ranking of National Teams. The reason for this drop of the Super Eagles was as a result of the draws played in two competitive matches in November. The team played draws home and away in their first two 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe, two nations below them in the Fifa rankings.

Nigeria are the sixth highest ranked country in Africa, with Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt ranked top five African nations in that order.
According to the rankings, the top ten teams in the world include Argentina, France, England, Belgium, Brazil, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Croatia.
