Nigeria Boosts Drug Production: 105 New Facilities Approved, Local Giants Take Charge!
Nigeria’s drug manufacturing scene is booming! Despite multinational exits, NAFDAC has approved 105 new facilities, with 20 local producers investing $2 billion in WHO-compliant plants. This 12% increase shows Nigeria’s commitment to self-sufficiency.
Emzor Pharmaceuticals, partnering with Indian giants, will soon produce antimalarial APIs, while six other local companies plan diverse API and excipient manufacturing. NAFDAC’s capacity-building workshops are further accelerating progress.

Swiss Pharma’s recent WHO prequalification showcases the global recognition of Nigerian products, motivating other producers to follow suit.
