Before heading to Angola, he displayed his burgeoning skills at the Almaty Saber FIE Junior World Cup in Kazakhstan, held from February 14 to 16, where he gained international recognition.
Despite being born and raised in the United States, Brou’s commitment to representing Nigeria remains unwavering. His dedication and fighting spirit were on full display in Angola, where he outperformed fierce competition and earned a place on the podium, cementing Nigeria’s rising status in international fencing.
“Brou’s journey from an unranked 15-year-old in October 2023 to an African championship medalist speaks volumes about his passion, progress, and potential,” an NFF official commented.

Peluola Akinbamiro, another promising young fencer, faced an unexpected setback when a last-minute schedule change caused her to miss her first bout. The NFF’s strategic efforts to build a competitive fencing team are already bearing fruit.
