INEC Commences Distribution of Election Materials in Imo State, Assures of Credible Poll
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has today begun the distribution of election materials to the 27 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Imo state ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
According to media reports, political party agents and security personnel were present at the Owerri office of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to examine the materials.
While speaking in an interview, INEC’s National Commissioner in-charge of South-East, Mr Kenneth Ukeagu, expressed the readiness of the electoral commission to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
He added that the commission was ready to address challenges that might arise from the distribution process.

Also, the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Sylvia Agu, said that all the materials, including sensitive materials and result sheets needed for the poll, had arrived at the CBN Owerri office.
Prof. Agu said that after the inspection, party agents, INEC officials, supporting RECs and security personnel would move the materials to the 27 LGAs.
