Nigeria Declares Eid El-Fitr Holidays on April 9th and 10th, 2024
he Nigerian Federal Government has declared Tuesday, April 9th, and Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, as public holidays to celebrate Eid al-Fitr.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced the public holidays in a statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Aishetu Ndayako. The Minister extended congratulations to all Muslim Nigerians on the successful completion of Ramadan.
“We celebrate the dedication and sacrifice shown by Muslims during the holy month,” Minister Tunji-Ojo said. He encouraged Nigerians to embrace the spirit of Eid al-Fitr, which emphasizes kindness, love, tolerance, peace, and good neighbourliness.
The Minister further urged Nigerians to unite for national peace and progress. He offered Eid al-Fitr greetings to all Muslims, praying for blessings and divine favor upon the nation.
