South west governors pay condolence visit to Late Akeredolu’s residence
South west governors led by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, today, were present at the residence of the late former Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital to pay a condolence visit.
Present were the Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke; his Ogun State counterpart, Dapo Abiodun; and the Ekiti State Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, while the Lagos State Governor, Sanwo-Olu was yet to arrive at the residence as of the time of filing this report.
During the visit, the governors promised to set up a committee that would ensure a befitting state burial for the deceased governor.

Speaking on behalf of the governors, Gov. Abiodun said, “Collectively, we will be majorly responsible for his funeral rites in according him the farewell that he deserves. We will be setting up a joint committee of the South Western states to work with the family and collaborate with the government of Ondo State to ensure that we give him a deserving funeral.”
He described the late Akeredolu as a courageous individual whose vacuum would be difficult to fill.
The late Ondo state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu died of complications from prostate cancer in Germany, on Wednesday.
