Governor Duoye Diri Sworn In for Second Term as Bayelsa Governor
Governor Duoye Diri has been sworn in for a second term as the Governor of Bayelsa State. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa, the state capital. The oath of office was administered by the State Chief Judge, Justice Matilda Ayemieye. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, and Vice President of Liberia, Jeremiah Koung.

Governors from various states across Nigeria were also present, including Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Mohammed Bago (Niger), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), AbdulRahman AbdulRazak (Kwara), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), and others. Former Senate Presidents Bukola Saraki and Adolfus Wabara, who is now the Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, along with other national and state leaders of the party, also graced the occasion.
Governor Diri secured his second term in office after winning the gubernatorial election with a total of 175,196 votes, defeating his main rival, Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress.
