Gear Up for the 2025 ECOWAS Abuja International Marathon: Kit Collection Begins Today!
The countdown to the 2025 ECOWAS Abuja International Marathon is officially on! Registered runners can start collecting their running kits from today, Thursday, February 20, as the Marathon Expo kicks off at the Federal Secretariat Car Park, Eagles Square, Abuja. The expo will run daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until February 28, giving participants ample time to pick up their bibs and vests ahead of the big race on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
This year’s marathon features two exciting races: the half-marathon (21.1 km) and the 5-kilometer fun race. The half-marathon will start and finish at the ECOWAS Commission, while the 5 km race will begin at the Independence Bridge near Sahad Stores and conclude at the same iconic location. According to Race Director Gabriel Okon, participants must present valid proof of identification to collect their kits. For those unable to collect in person, a representative can step in with an authority note, a copy of the completed entry form (with a photograph), and a copy of the participant’s ID.
