Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan,

An anti-corruption court in Pakistan has jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Khan for 14 years each on allegations of illegally selling state gifts.

This was disclosed today by his party and lawyers just over a week before a national election.

Bushra Khan, commonly known as Bushra Bibi, gave herself up for arrest shortly after the verdict, PTI added.

The 14-year imprisonment is a little more than the 10-year sentence given to Khan on Tuesday on charges of revealing state secrets, and not immediately clear if the two sentences for Khan would run concurrently.

Khan and his wife were charged with illegally selling gifts, worth more than 140 million rupees ($501,000) and received during his 2018-2022 premiership, from a state treasury known locally known as the “Toshakhana.”

Government officials have alleged Khan’s aides sold the gifts in Dubai.

The verdict is the third conviction handed down to the embattled former prime minister in the last few months including a 10-year disqualification from holding public office.
