Falconets Gear Up for Japan Showdown in Bogota at FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup
Nigeria’s Falconets have returned to Bogota, Colombia, ahead of their highly anticipated Round of 16 clash with Japan in the ongoing FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup. Set to take place on Friday morning at 2am (Nigeria time), the match marks a crucial moment for Africa’s top contender in the tournament.
Japan, a formidable force in women’s football, dominated Group E, which also featured Austria, New Zealand, and Ghana. While Ghana exited the tournament early, Nigeria’s Falconets powered through, defeating Korea Republic 1-0 and crushing Venezuela 4-0, despite a 1-3 loss to Germany.

Falconets’ Coach, Chris Musa Danjuma, expressed confidence ahead of the knockout stage: “The girls have worked very hard to get to this stage, and we are proud of their efforts. We are excited about facing Japan and the opportunities that come with it.”
