Defence Minister Issues Shoot-on-Sight Warning to Troops Against Bandits, Terrorists
Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (retd.), has issued a tough directive to security personnel, warning that any officer who hesitates to engage bandits or terrorists while waiting for orders will be treated as an accomplice.
Speaking in Sokoto during the distribution of new armoured vehicles, Musa urged troops to act decisively against criminal elements, stressing that the military equipment—funded by Nigerian taxpayers—must be used to protect lives and restore security. He also emphasized that defeating insecurity requires intelligence-led operations, community cooperation, professionalism, and proper maintenance of military assets.
