Court Orders Final Forfeiture of 52 Luxury Homes in Lekki
The Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, has ordered the final forfeiture of 52 terrace and maisonette units in Lekki’s Mercyville Estate, Covenant Way, Ilasan, ruling that the properties were acquired through unlawful activities.

Justice Alexandra Owoeye delivered the judgment on July 15, 2026, after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) proved that the assets, linked to Fielddreams Limited, Ifeanyi Nweke, and Amex Savings & Loans Limited, were proceeds of crime.
The EFCC had earlier secured an interim forfeiture order in 2024, directing publication in national newspapers to invite objections. However, the respondents’ affidavits were found contradictory, and the court rejected their claims.
Counsel Franklin Ofoma argued that Nweke is a fugitive with outstanding arrest warrants, strengthening the case for forfeiture. Justice Owoeye ruled that the EFCC had met the legal threshold, granting the properties to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
