Pop icon Britney Spears has reportedly sold her music catalogue and publishing rights to Primary Wave, in a deal estimated to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Though the exact terms remain undisclosed, reports suggest the agreement covers Spears’ artist royalties and songwriting credits on nearly 40 tracks, including fan favorites like “Everytime”, “Me Against the Music”, and “S&M”. Industry insiders note that Spears’ name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights are unlikely to be part of the deal unless the valuation far exceeds current estimates.

Primary Wave, known for acquiring legendary catalogues from artists such as Bob Marley, Stevie Nicks, Prince, Whitney Houston, and The Doors, is expected to leverage Spears’ works across branding, film, and advertising.

The sale comes as Spears maintains a low profile following the end of her conservatorship in 2021. While she hasn’t released a full-length album since Glory (2016), she briefly returned to the charts in 2022 with “Hold Me Closer”, her collaboration with Elton John. Recently, Spears revealed she has no plans to perform in the U.S. again but hinted at possible shows in the UK and Australia.
