In a statement released on Thursday, March 27, 2025, CFF President Marie-France Dufour addressed all member nations, revealing that the decision was made by a majority vote.
“As most of you are aware, the CFF received bids from two prospective hosts for the 2026 CFF Senior-Veteran Championships. After discussion, the Board initially granted provisional hosting rights to Nigeria, pending resolution of some concerns in their bid. The Nigerian Fencing Federation (NFF) addressed these issues, and after review, the Board has now formally awarded them the event.”
