3 super Eagles Players make 2023 AFCON Team
Super Eagles trio, William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman and Ola Aina have been named today in the recently concluded AFCON 2023 Team of the Tournament by CAF.’
The continent’s football governing body made this known on their social media platforms showcasing Africa’s best XI.
Super eagles vice-captain, Troost-Ekong placed as one of the team’s defenders was also awarded as the Man of the Tournament and was arguably Nigeria’s best player playing every single minute of super eagles games throughout the tournament with his strong leadership skills both on and off the pitch backed up by a strong defensive showing that led the Super Eagles to the final.

Ademola Lookman, one of Nigeria’s strikers was equally impressive in the tournament with scoring 3 goals against Cameroon and South Africa and finally Ola Aina who was a stalwart in the right-hand side of Nigeria’s defence.
Others who made the team include Ivorian trio, Franck Kessie, Jean Michael Seri in midfield and Ghislain Konan in the left-back position of the defence.
Also, tournament’s highest goal-scorer EmilosNsua leads the line in the attack while DR Congo’s Yoane Wissa completes the frontline.
In goal is the South African’s keeper, Ronwen Williams withIvorian, Emerse Fae heading the team who took over after the dismissal of Jean-Louis Gasset.
