Momentum is building ahead of the 2027 general elections as South-South leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have unanimously endorsed former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi for the party’s presidential ticket.
The endorsement was confirmed by ADC chieftain John Odigie-Oyegun, following a strategic meeting where Amaechi formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidency under the ADC platform.
Odigie-Oyegun praised Amaechi for consulting regional leaders before launching his ambition, describing the move as a mark of respect and political maturity. He revealed that the South-South bloc reached a unanimous decision to back the former Rivers governor, pledging structured support and continued consultations to strengthen the zone’s political influence.
