President Bola Tinubu has rolled out a sweeping three-part policy action: approving ₦4 billion each for 12 universities to upgrade engineering and technology facilities, ordering immediate funding for Nigeria’s space assets, and nominating Taiwo Oyedele as Minister of State for Finance.

Under the TETFund High-Impact Intervention, institutions such as Federal University of Technology Minna, Federal University of Technology Akure, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, and Nigerian Army University Biu will receive funds to modernise labs and workshops, strengthening STEM capacity and innovation.

At the National Space Council meeting, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Tinubu reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to its 25-year space roadmap, directing enforcement of space regulations and timely release of approved funds.

Meanwhile, Oyedele’s nomination — replacing Doris Uzoka-Anite — signals continued fiscal reform momentum.

Together, the moves position education, space technology, and economic reform as core pillars of Nigeria’s growth strategy.
