President Directs Full Investigation Into PFIPC Fraud as Gbajabiamila Threatens ₦10 Billion Defamation Suit
President Bola Tinubu has directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), describing it as a fictitious agency with no legal backing.
The Presidency said the probe will examine allegations of forged appointment letters, impersonation, fake government documents, fraudulent bank accounts, and misuse of presidential authority. The ICPC has been given 30 days to submit its findings, while all government agencies have been ordered to cooperate fully.

The investigation centers on Adeniyi Adeyemi, who insists he was lawfully appointed as PFIPC Director-General despite the Presidency’s denial. Adeyemi has also accused Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila of corruption, claims the Presidency has dismissed as false. Meanwhile, Gbajabiamila has threatened a ₦10 billion defamation lawsuit, while criminal charges against Adeyemi are scheduled for hearing on July 27.
