Peter Obi Visits Labour Party HQ, Urges Unity for Nigeria’s Survival

Boom RadioNG | May 22, 2024

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, visited the party’s national headquarters in Abuja to show solidarity with the newly elected National Working Committee led by Julius Abure.

Obi urged aggrieved members to prioritize the survival of Nigerians and Nigeria above personal interests. During the visit, Obi emphasized that the challenges facing Nigeria are primarily related to human capital development, including food security, education, health, and water.

He stressed the importance of focusing on Nigeria’s well-being rather than solely on the next election.“Let us focus on Nigeria, and see that Nigeria works, if Nigeria is working, the Labour party will work,” Obi said.

In his address, the national chairman, Julius Abure, appealed to dissenting voices over the Nnewi convention to come together, set aside personal interests, and work towards building a strong party that can make a good showing in the next election season.“I believe very strongly that personal interest should be put aside and pursue a new Nigeria that will work for all,” Abure stated.
