Get ready for a vibrant spectacle! The famous Calabar Carnival is back for its much-anticipated 20th edition, promising an unforgettable experience for attendees and unprecedented exposure for sponsors.

Unveiling New Additions and Unmatched Sponsor Benefits

At a press conference held in Lagos, Effiong Ekpenyong, the Special Adviser to the Cross River State Governor on Event Management and Chairman of the Carnival Committee, announced exciting plans for the upcoming event.

“This year’s carnival promises to be even more interesting, engaging, and rewarding,” Ekpenyong enthused. “We’ve added new elements to our flagship brand, alongside other captivating shows that will keep visitors entertained throughout the carnival period.”

The news gets even better for potential sponsors. Ekpenyong highlighted the significant boost in brand visibility the carnival offers. “Sponsors can expect huge mileage,” he declared. “What began with a one-day DSTV broadcast has grown into a seven-day extravaganza, reaching over 50 million viewers in 40 countries!”

A Theme Steeped in Meaning

The 20th-anniversary carnival carries the powerful theme “Our Shared Prosperity.” Ekpenyong explained the significance behind the theme: “The themes for our carnivals hold deep meaning, as a result of considerable intellectual effort. We’ve had a history of thought-provoking themes, with the Governor setting the direction, and our partners bringing the theme to life through captivating dances and costumes.”

A Carnival that has Come of Age

Gabe Onah, Chairman of the Cross River State Carnival Commission, also addressed the press conference. He spoke of the carnival’s evolution and maturity. “The carnival has come a long way,” Onah stated. “It was born from a desire to tell our story and empower young minds.”

With its 20th edition on the horizon, the Calabar Carnival is poised to solidify its position as a premier cultural event in Africa, attracting not only enthusiastic crowds but also brands seeking global exposure. Stay tuned for further updates on this not-to-be-missed spectacle!
