Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in last years General Elections, has addressed the question regarding the absence of new school construction during his time as Governor of Anambra State. The inquiry was raised by social media personality Reno Omokri, who challenged Obi and his supporters to provide evidence of a single school initiated and completed during his eight-year tenure.

During a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Obi responded by stating that those who made such claims failed to familiarize themselves with his manifesto. He explained that upon assuming office, the state of education in Anambra was in disarray, with closed schools and a low ranking among states in the country. However, by the time he left office, Anambra had risen to become the top-ranked state in terms of education.

Obi emphasized that his focus was on improving the quality of education, the well-being of students, and ensuring that schools had the necessary resources. He compared the situation to building coastal lines when internal roads were impassable.
