12 NBA All-stars make US Basketball team for Paris Olympics

Popular basketballers, LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant are set to spearhead the star-studded United States Olympic basketball squad competing for a fifth straight gold medal at this year’s Paris Games.

Officials of USA Basketball confirmed a formidable 12-man roster that includes reigning Most Valuable Player Joel Embiid alongside Boston Celtics standouts Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday.

The squad contains 12 NBA All-Stars, four NBA MVPs and six NBA champions including Phoenix’s Devin Booker, the Lakers’ Anthony Davis, Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards and the Los Angeles Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard.

On the team, Los Angeles Lakers star, Lebron James, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, will be competing in his fourth Olympics after appearances at the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Games and also Golden State star, Steph Curry who will be playing in his first Olympics.

Miami’s Bam Adebayo and Indiana’s Tyrese Haliburton are also named.

Golden State’s Steve Kerr has been named head coach, with assistants including Miami’s Erik Spoelstra, the Clippers’ Tyronn Lue and Gonzaga University’s Mark Few.
