Iran Declares Success in Strike on Israel: Operation Concluded

Boom RadioNG | April 14, 2024

In a bold move, the Iranian government has hailed its direct strike on Israel as a success and declared the military operation over. Despite the fact that most of the drones dispatched from Iran were shot down by Israeli, US, British, and French forces, Iran claims to have achieved its objectives. The chief of the general staff, Gen Mohammad Bagheri, stated that an Israeli intelligence center near the Syrian border and an airbase had been significantly destroyed. However, the operation’s success is disputed, as the majority of the drones were intercepted.

While Iran asserts that the operation is concluded, it warns of a larger response if Israel or any other country takes action against them. The Iranian government maintains that the targets were solely military and that the operation was carried out in self-defense. Iran’s president, Ebrahim Raisi, calls for appreciation of Iran’s proportionate and responsible actions, contrasting them with Israeli breaches of international law.

The Iranian attack, which was telegraphed in advance, aims to pressure western powers to prevent a large-scale Israeli response that could escalate the crisis. Iran’s strategic choices have allegedly changed the dynamics in the Middle East, according to the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), Hossein Salami. However, the lack of structural damage in Israel and the interception of the majority of the drones raise questions about the effectiveness of Iran’s operation.

As tensions remain high, Iran seeks to avoid further escalation and calls for de-escalation through diplomatic channels. The international community, particularly the US, UK, and EU, are urged to play a role in conflict management and prevent a full-scale war in the region.
