As a fallout from Nigeria’s latest friendly game against Mali, Moses Simon would have to be sidelined for the remainder of the season by his Ligue 1 club, Nantes due to an injury sustained during yesterday’s match where they suffered a 2-0 defeat.

The Super Eagles winger got injured in the 33rd minute after a collision with the opposing goalkeeper, forcing him to leave the pitch with assistance. Despite efforts from the medical staff, he couldn’t continue and was replaced by Cyriel Dessers.

Nantes made the official announcement today that Moses Simon has suffered a fractured fibula, sidelining him for a minimum of three months.

This unfortunate news means Simon will miss the remainder of Nantes’ season and Nigeria’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers against South Africa.

Super eagles interim Coach, Finidi George also expressed his concern over Simon’s condition, stating, “It’s a tough blow for us. Moses has been a key player for both Nantes and the national team.”
