Governor Oborevwori Condemns Unprovoked Killing of Soldiers in Delta State, Vows Justice

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has vehemently condemned the unprovoked killing of officers and soldiers attached to 63 Brigade at Okuama community, Ughelli South Local Government Area. Emphasizing the state’s commitment to the rule of law and human decency, Governor Oborevwori expressed deep concern over the tragic incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the military and the families of the fallen officers and soldiers.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori denounced the violence as a departure from the values and traditions of the people of Delta State. He underscored the state government’s unwavering dedication to promoting peace and security, aligning with the MORE agenda aimed at enhancing peace and stability.

The governor assured that the state government would leave no stone unturned in identifying and bringing to justice those responsible for the reprehensible act. He reiterated that such acts of violence are intolerable within the governance framework of Delta State, emphasizing the state’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and safeguarding human lives and property.

Furthermore, the recovery of the lifeless bodies of the killed soldiers has prompted Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, to order a thorough investigation into the tragic incident, which claimed the lives of four senior officers and 12 soldiers.
