Supreme Court To Deliver Judgements In 7 Governorship Disputes on Friday

The Supreme Court has announced that it will deliver judgements in seven governorship appeals on Friday, January 12, 2024.

According to the notice, the states are Lagos, Kano, Zamfara, Plateau, Ebonyi, Bauchi and Cross River and the judgement is to begin at 9am.

Also, each party are also to appear with no more than two counsels in attendance

However, the Supreme Court has today affirmed the election of Umo Eno of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the validly elected governor of Akwa Ibom State after dismissing the appeals of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Young Progressives Party (YPP) and the Action Alliance (AC)challenging the outcome of the election held on March 18 2023.

In addition, the Supreme Court had reserved judgement on Plateau, Delta and Abia State governorship election cases so far.
