VP Kashim Shettima reschedules visit to Kaduna

The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, has today rescheduled his visit to Kaduna State which was to be today, Wednesday to Thursday.

This was disclosed in a statement released by the Kaduna State Government which is three days after the mistaken deadly airstrike by the Nigerian army that killed over 85 persons and injured several others in the North-Western state.

However, no reason was given for the postponement of the vice president’s visit.

The Army has taken responsibility for the Sunday incident with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Chief of Army state and Minister of Defence all visiting the village affected.

According to the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna, the Deputy Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Shuaibu Musa, 71 persons were brought to the hospital but one died . “Most of them have been treated and stabilized.

Also according to the villagers, the death toll has risen to about 120 even though the army claim some of the casualties were terrorists using civilians as human shield.
