“Federal Government Takes Action to Lower Cooking Gas Prices”

Boom RadioNG | November 27, 2023

“The Federal Government is addressing the surge in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices, initiating efforts to reduce the cost of cooking gas for consumers. Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, convened a meeting with key stakeholders, including Chevron Nigeria Limited and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, to discuss challenges affecting LPG supply and pricing. Issues identified include forex sourcing for imports and inadequate domestic supply.

Expressing President Bola Tinubu’s concerns about the price hike, Ekpo emphasized the need for government intervention. A committee has been formed to deliver recommendations within a week, focusing on enhancing supplies and reducing LPG prices. Stay tuned for updates on this crucial development.
