“Stop the Blame Game”: Femi Falana Slams Politicians Over Oyo School Abductions as Classroom Crisis Deepens
Human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) has urged politicians to stop turning the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oyo State into a political weapon, insisting that rescue efforts and security reforms should take priority.
Speaking on Television yesterday, Falana criticised public figures making unverified claims about who was behind the kidnappings.
“If anyone has evidence, they should report it to the police or the DSS instead of making inflammatory statements in public,” Falana said.
He warned that such allegations could deepen fear among affected families and distract from urgent rescue operations.

Falana also called on President Bola Tinubu to improve funding, equipment, and welfare for security agencies as kidnappings continue to spread across parts of Nigeria.
The warning comes weeks after the abduction of 39 pupils and seven teachers in Oyo and another 42 pupils in Borno, incidents that have triggered protests and nationwide concern over insecurity.
