Tinubu Appoints Professor Segun Aina as Youngest JAMB Registrar
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named Professor Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), succeeding Professor Is-haq Oloyede whose tenure ends on July 31, 2026.
At just 40 years old, Aina makes history as JAMB’s youngest registrar, bringing a strong background in digital systems, examination reform, and institutional modernization. Aina holds degrees from the University of Kent and Loughborough University, UK, and is a Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

His career spans over 15 years at the intersection of technology, policy, and education, with consultancy roles for NECO, NABTEB, and state ministries of education. Tinubu expressed confidence that Aina’s expertise will advance JAMB’s digital transformation and strengthen transparency in Nigeria’s admissions process.
