Seyi Makinde Declares for 2027 Presidency at PDP-APM Mega Rally: ‘Nigeria Needs a Reset’
Ibadan, Nigeria – The 2027 presidential race just gained a major contender. Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State officially declared his intention to run for president on Thursday at a unity rally jointly organized by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) at historic Mapo Hall, Ibadan.
The message:
Makinde called on opposition leaders to unite against what he described as a deliberate effort by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to turn Nigeria into a one-party state.
“Is this the way we are to continue as a nation?” he asked, pointing to worsening economic hardship, insecurity, and growing threats to opposition voices.
He urged Nigerians to rise above being “political spectators and bystanders,” assuring that collective participation would deliver a “historic reset” in 2027.
