Tinubu Meets Security Chiefs as Jilli Airstrike Fallout and Fresh Attacks Shake Nigeria

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has held an urgent security meeting with top military and intelligence chiefs in Abuja as Nigeria faces renewed insurgent threats and growing controversy over a deadly airstrike in Borno.

The high-level meeting, attended by Nuhu Ribadu, comes amid intensified attacks by Boko Haram and public concern over reported civilian casualties at Jilli Market.

While authorities insist the location is a known insurgent stronghold, Amnesty International has called for a full investigation.

In a separate incident, troops under Operation HADIN KAI repelled an attack in Monguno but lost a commanding officer and six soldiers to an IED—highlighting the growing risks faced by frontline forces.
