2027 Coalition Watch: Kwankwaso in Talks With ADC, NDC as Obi, Makinde, Dickson Join Realignment Push

The Nigerian political chessboard is undergoing a seismic realignment as the Kwankwasiyya Movement confirms that its National Leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is spearheading high-level negotiations for a new mega-platform. According to Movement Spokesperson II, Mansur Kurugu, the 2023 NNPP presidential candidate is currently in deep consultations with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The “Third Force” Reunited? 

This isn’t just a solo mission. The talks involve a “Who’s Who” of powerful figures currently navigating a fractured opposition landscape:

• Peter Obi: The former Labour Party standard-bearer.

• Seyi Makinde: The Oyo State Governor, currently facing a heated internal battle within the PDP.

• Seriake Dickson: The influential Bayelsa West Senator.

Kurugu revealed that while the talks have “progressed significantly,” the coalition is still weighing which political vehicle to officially adopt. The final destination for this heavyweight alliance could be the ADC, the NDC, or even a rebranded NNPP.

Strategic Timing: Post-Sallah Realignment

The confirmation follows a strategic gathering in Kano, where Kwankwaso hosted Makinde, Obi, and Dickson during the recent Sallah celebrations. This meeting, initially framed as a social visit, is now being seen as the foundation for a united front against the ruling APC in the 2027 general elections.

The goal is clear: consolidate the fragmented opposition into a single, formidable “Third Force” that can challenge the current political status quo. As Kurugu puts it, the leaders are carefully selecting a platform that best serves their “collective ambition.”
