Prince Dr. Ifalade Oyekan, FISN, General Manager of the LNSA, made this known during a media interaction, emphasizing that the agency—widely recognized as Nigeria’s pioneer in community policing—has undergone significant restructuring and re-engineering to meet modern security demands.
“We are not designed to merely react to incidents,” Oyekan stated. “Our Corps Officers are trained to anticipate, prevent, and mitigate security threats before they occur.”
Technology-Driven Security Model
The LNSA has adopted a proactive, intelligence-driven approach across Lagos, leveraging technology to strengthen grassroots security architecture. This transformation positions the agency as a ready-made foundation for State Police operations when legislative approval comes through.

Oyekan, recently reappointed for a second five-year term by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to advancing the Governor’s vision of a safer Lagos.
“Under Governor Sanwo-Olu’s leadership, the Agency and its Corps arm will continue evolving into a modern, efficient, and responsive safety institution,” he added.
