Tinubu’s Aide O’tega Ogra Slams ADC Digital Membership Portal, Raises Data Verification Concerns
A fresh political tech controversy has erupted after O’tega Ogra, Senior Special Assistant on Digital and New Media to Bola Tinubu, criticised the newly launched online membership registration platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The ADC unveiled the free nationwide digital portal in line with the Electoral Act 2026, positioning it as a step toward modernising party registration ahead of the 2027 elections. However, Ogra questioned the credibility of the system, alleging it lacks proper identity verification safeguards.
In a post on 𝕏 directed at ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi, Ogra referenced the National Identity Management Commission integration framework, suggesting the opposition party failed to incorporate reliable validation mechanisms.
He warned that claims of “millions” of new members could face scrutiny if the registration process is not transparently verified, stressing that public trust depends on robust technical standards.
