At the Seme border, 35-year-old Rabi Muhammad was intercepted with a fabricated baby bump concealing 3,200 tramadol capsules strapped to her stomach en route to Cotonou. Meanwhile, at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, 41-year-old Ivorian national Michael Gohouri was caught attempting to board a Milan-bound flight after ingesting cocaine. Under observation, he expelled 1.49kg of the illicit drug.
The crackdown extended nationwide, leading to the arrest of a Lagos-based real estate executive allegedly linked to a drug cartel, with 89.2kg of high-grade cannabis recovered. Massive seizures were also recorded across Edo, Bauchi, Ondo, Delta, Kogi, and Rivers states, including over 170,000 bottles of codeine syrup and large quantities of skunk.

NDLEA Chairman Mohamed Buba Marwa commended officers for intensifying supply reduction efforts while sustaining its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign nationwide.
The latest bust underscores Nigeria’s escalating fight against drug trafficking networks exploiting airports, borders, and highways.
