Following the brutal killings in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday evening to discuss urgent security measures.

The meeting came days after suspected jihadist fighters linked to Boko Haram stormed Worro and Nuku villages, killing over 100 residents, torching homes, shops, and the palace of the Emir of Worro, Saliu Umar, who remains missing. Victims included the Emir’s family members, the Chief Imam, a school principal, and several students.

In swift response, President Tinubu ordered the deployment of an army battalion and established a new military command under Operation Savannah Shield to crush terrorist cells and restore peace. He condemned the attacks as “cowardly and inhumane,” stressing that Nigerians must never be forced into extremist ideology.
