Legendary Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has issued a public apology following the dramatic altercation at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, earlier this week.

In a heartfelt video message released on Friday, the veteran artiste described his actions as “regrettable” and took full responsibility for the incident, which has sparked widespread controversy and led to his placement on a government no-fly list.

“I seek forgiveness from Mr. President, the Minister for Aviation, the pilot, the airline staff, passengers, my fans worldwide, and my family,” KWAM 1 said. “I have been a good ambassador for Nigeria, and I should not be found in such incidents.”

Health Condition Clarification
KWAM 1 explained that the liquid in the flask, which became the center of the dispute, was water prescribed for him due to dehydration concerns. Despite this, aviation authorities allege the flask contained alcohol, and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) claims the singer spilled the liquid on a security officer.

Minister Reacts, No-Fly List Enforced
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, described the incident as a “temporary loss of sanity and control” that could have led to serious fatalities. He instructed the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to place the Fuji star on a no-fly list pending a full investigation, warning that airlines who ignore the directive risk having their operating licenses revoked.

Legal Action in Motion
The NCAA has petitioned the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police to prosecute the singer for breaching civil aviation regulations. Meanwhile, two ValueJet pilots have also been suspended for unsafe conduct during the incident.

A Viral Moment
The confrontation, captured in widely circulated videos, shows K1 De Ultimate blocking a ValueJet aircraft from taxiing on the runway — an act Keyamo likened to a “hostage situation.”

Despite the controversy, the Fuji maestro remains resolute in his patriotism.

“My love for this country is unshakable. I will continue to carry the banner of Nigeria wherever I go,” he affirmed.
