FG Launches Ambitious TVET Program to Equip Nigerian Youth with Job-Ready Skills
The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially launched a transformative Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) initiative, aimed at equipping Nigerian youth with the practical, industry-relevant skills needed to thrive in today’s evolving workforce.
Unveiled at a national ceremony in Abuja, the landmark initiative was spearheaded by the Honourable Minister of Education in collaboration with the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Said Ahmad. The TVET launch marks a bold step toward reimagining technical education as a cornerstone for sustainable economic growth and youth empowerment.
“TVET is more than a programme—it’s a gateway to securing your future and shaping Nigeria’s future,” declared the Minister during the ceremony.
The initiative opens up immediate opportunities for enrollment in Vocational Enterprise Institutes (VEIs) and Skills Training Centres (STCs) across the country. Interested participants can now register online via the official portal: http://TVET.education.gov.ng
Designed to close Nigeria’s skills gap and reduce youth unemployment, the TVET initiative integrates modern training methods with market-driven curriculum, preparing students for in-demand careers across sectors like construction, ICT, manufacturing, creative arts, renewable energy, and more.
The launch drew the presence of key government officials and stakeholders, including the Honourable Ministers of Youth and Labour, State Commissioners, School Principals, and representatives from various Federal Ministry of Education (FME) agencies.
