It all started in May 2024, at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Combat Games held at the NAF Valley Sports Complex. Makanjuola, then a fresh recruit, took a chance on a casual invitation to “try a shot.” She pulled back the string, released—and hit the target dead-on. In that moment, a champion was born.
From Curiosity to Championship
What followed was a story of grit, growth, and glory. With dedicated support from NAF coaches and her own unwavering discipline, Makanjuola quickly refined her natural gift. By late 2024, she was not just competing—she was winning.
At the Inter-Service Games in Kaduna, she bagged 2 gold and 2 silver medals, representing the Nigerian Air Force with precision and pride.
By November 2024, her bowstring sang again at the All-African Military Games, where she earned 2 more gold medals, this time on an international platform.
Fast-forward to April 2025, and Makanjuola’s star power hit a new peak. At the Chief of Defence Staff’s Armed Forces Inter-Service Archery Competition in Abuja, she collected an astonishing 8 medals—solidifying her status as Nigeria’s undisputed archery queen.
