Grassroots Table Tennis Development Takes Center Stage
The Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) is set to host the 2025 U-12 National Hopes Week, a premier event aimed at discovering and nurturing young table tennis talents across the country. The event will take place from April 2 to 8, 2025, at the Training Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Designed to hone the skills of Nigeria’s rising table tennis stars, this week-long camp will bring together the best U-12 players from different states and regions, giving them access to intensive training and expert coaching. The program will be facilitated by International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF)-certified coaches, who will introduce these young athletes to advanced techniques, tactics, and professional-level training methods.

The National Hopes Week is part of the NTTF’s broader mission to promote table tennis at the grassroots level, providing young talents with a structured pathway to international competitions. According to the federation, the event will serve as a stepping stone for players aiming to participate in continental and World Hopes Week tournaments.
“Our goal is to groom the next generation of table tennis stars by offering them the right training and exposure at an early stage.
