President Tinubu Hails Tems on Historic Grammy Win, Applauds Nigerian Music Stars

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian music sensation Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, for winning the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

On behalf of the nation, President Tinubu praised Tems for her exceptional artistry, which has once again brought global recognition to Nigeria.

Afrobeats: A Global Powerhouse

The President also celebrated the emergence of a new generation of Nigerian musicians who have propelled Afrobeats onto the international stage, showcasing the nation’s creativity, innovation, and cultural influence.

“From Africa to Antarctica, Asia to Australia, Europe to the Americas, Nigerian music, especially Afrobeats, has become a source of pride, fostering identity, self-expression, and unity across borders,” he stated.

President Tinubu also extended his congratulations to Yemi Alade, Asake, Wizkid, Lojay, Davido, and Burna Boy, who were nominated for this year’s Grammy Awards.
