Suspended Delta State Aide Refutes Visa Scam Allegations, Asserts Innocence
Ambassador Favour Obakoro, the suspended Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Morals and Diaspora, has firmly denied allegations circulating on social media that she exploited her office to defraud individuals in a visa procurement scheme.
Obakoro, also known as Vida Modelo, labeled the accusations as baseless and unsubstantiated. She clarified that her company, Vida Modela Multi Media, which specializes in travel consultancy, was contracted by Türkiye-based ERM Partners to facilitate foreign exchange transactions for their clients. She emphasized that her company does not handle visa issuance but assists with application forms and document vetting, as only embassies have the authority to issue visas.
Obakoro recounted that Mr. Ibrahim, CEO of ERM Partners, approached her after seeing an advertisement on social media. Her company was tasked with facilitating foreign currency transfers for Nigerian clients to Türkiye. She stated that her company merely ensured the forex reached ERM Partners after receiving Naira deposits in Nigeria. All transactions were documented, and receipts were provided.

Challenging anyone with claims of visa-related dealings with her company to present evidence, Obakoro questioned why she would be accused of using her government position for scams when she has been an entrepreneur and humanitarian long before her appointment by Governor Oborevwori.
She revealed that the Police Special Fraud Unit in Abuja is investigating the matter following a petition by Mr. David Kelvin Oduma, MD of Gateway Travel International Connect Agency. Despite being invited to the Police Headquarters with her documentation, Mr. Oduma failed to appear. The police have pledged to invite all claimants to present their evidence.
Obakoro stressed her commitment to protecting her reputation and maintaining the integrity of her office.
