Actor Dakore Egbuson-Akande Takes Legal Action Against ‘Gist Lover’ Blog Over Defamatory Claims
In a significant legal move, renowned Nigerian actor Dakore Egbuson-Akande has issued a cease and desist notice through her legal team, Olisa Agbakoba Legal, to the controversial blogger “Gist Lover” and all known affiliates. This action follows the blog’s recent allegations that Egbuson-Akande, along with other celebrities such as Ini Edo, Nancy Isime, Wanneka, and Hilda Baci, were involved as “side chicks” with the current Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
The blog not only made these serious accusations but also published personal images and details of the Senate President’s wife alongside photos of the celebrities. In response, Egbuson-Akande took to social media with a vehement denial, describing the allegations as “a very wicked lie from the pit of hell.” She firmly stated, “I have never met the Senate President. You’ve messed with the wrong person.” Furthermore, she has offered a reward of 5 million naira to anyone who can provide proof of any relationship between her and the Senate President.
The cease and desist notice demands that the defamatory post be removed within 24 hours, warning that failure to comply will result in “aggressive legal actions.” The “Gist Lover” blog operates under a veil of anonymity, making it notoriously difficult for previous legal attempts by other aggrieved celebrities to bring the operators to justice.
